Psalm 149

5 Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Praise the Lord with something fresh, a unique melody of new and improved worship. The “Old Man” still sings vintage tunes, but echoes of the past remain. The “New Man” trades them all for modern choruses based on the fresh mercies of the Father. Form us all, Father, into a regal choir singing new songs dedicated to You, Our Lord and King.
May we all come to know you, Father God, as our ultimate Creator who authors and perfects our faith. But primarily, let your chosen ones, the children of Zion, honor you as their King and show their gratitude for all you have done. Let brilliant processions march through each community, captivating bystanders and inviting them to join the festivities. Hear the trumpets' brassy blare, the tambourines' thump and jingle, and the harps' angelic timbre, all celebrating your glory, Abba.
You take great joy in Your people, Lord. But how can You do that after You’ve seen us fall so far from Your original intention? Humanity refuses any yoke. Mankind sees it as a repression of his free will. He looks at humility and views it as weakness - even though Your Word says that salvation comes to a humble heart. Nevertheless, we are all beautiful in Your eyes.
Lord, let the sounds of your saints' joy be a lullaby as we sleep and an anthem at our joyful awakening.
We carry the equipment of our salvation with us everywhere we go. Your praise will be forever on our lips, and Your Word will be cherished in our hearts. They are both meant to teach the nations of Your coming vengeance, Father. There will someday be a reckoning. Woe to any who have harmed Your chosen ones, Lord. You have assigned us the task of carrying Your commission to the ends of the earth. We merely affirm Your word to the masses. It alone will do the convicting and condemning. Once spoken, it will never be voided. It is the honor of every faithful servant to carry the “Good News." It is our anthem to the world, Lord. But there will come a day, terrible for some, joyful for others, when You pass Your perfect judgment on it. Praise the Lord with a fresh understanding of that fact.
Author’s note: The misrepresentation of Psalm 149 has tragically stirred up many religious wars by the Church of God. Thirty Years War – 4-8 million dead. War of the Peasants – 100,000 dead. The Crusades – 1-3 million dead.
Humanity still fails to grasp the meaning of ‘Vengeance is mine,’ says the Lord.
